Event Description: Presenter: JoJo Stanfield, life coach, instructor and marketing consultant Winemaker, event planner, marketing assistant, pastry chef: which will it be? All women can do the work of their dreams, they just need to learn the steps to get there. This six-week course covers: targeting and researching jobs in a student’s desired industry; how to market yourself like a professional; and how to find fulfillment in your work. The syllabus also includes new techniques and strategies to: • Assess potential work environments • Establish an impressive online identity • Distinguish one’s self from other candidates • Communicate effectively with potential employers • Identify transferable skills and optimal jobs • Examine and overcome road blocks and self-limiting beliefs • Achieve greater confidence • Create opportunities to “get in the door” “This course is geared toward women who are willing to take some risks and go outside of their comfort zones to reap big rewards,” says Stanfield. “Ideal students should be able to commit a few hours a week to the process of job hunting; appreciate honest, constructive feedback; and have an excellent work ethic and a desire to succeed.” Tuition for the course is $195 per person and includes worksheets, scripts, support and individual guidance. She is a former Chair of the Job Creation Investment Task Force and helped bring the Workforce Resource Center to Santa Barbara County. JoJo holds a Masters in Social Work.
