Legislative Update

Over the years the Paso Robles Chamber of Commerce has worked for its membership in recognizing legislatives issues that may be of importance to its members.  The Legislative Affairs Task Force of the Paso Robles Chamber of Commerce is made up of business leaders in the community and meets on a regular basis to discuss any issues pertinent to the business community and determine any direction or statements necessary.

The Chambers Legislative Affairs Task Force is focused on four specific areas:

A. Legislation Monitoring; watches the ongoing process of creating new laws, rules and regulations by State and Federal governments.  Also educates the Chamber Board and community on legislation affecting business through email and articles in our publications. 

B. Economic Advocacy; by preparing position papers for the Chamber Board review/approval on issues relating to economic health and development such as: airport development, affordable housing, economic development, permits and fees.

C. Infrastructure; by preparing position papers for Chamber Board review/approval on issues relating to infrastructure planning and needs such as: water and sewer, parking, transportation and land use.

D. Short Term Needs; such as: prevailing wage laws, health care, and mandated living wages.
