Managing Leaves of Absence and Understanding EDD/Unemployment
FMLA? CFRA? Pregnancy disability? ADA? Worker’s Comp? This seminar will discuss an employer’s rights and responsibilities regarding leaves of absence, “reasonable accommodation”, and continued benefits when notified of an employee’s medical condition. This seminar will also answer questions such as: Can current employees get unemployment insurance benefits? Can your reserve account be charged for an employee who was originally denied benefits - but gets (and loses) a new job? These questions (and more) will be analyzed and answered, to help you control your unemployment insurance costs. We will also cover little known policies that can cost your business money and how to protect yourself.
