Rebrand. Reboot. Reinvent.

The Paso Robles Chamber of Commerce Business Walk 2020 is a wrap! The third annual Chamber of Commerce survey of our local economy reached almost 500 businesses with in-person visits, phone calls, and emails.

Our army of volunteers manned the phones and computers and pounded the pavement with clipboards and pens (and masks and hand sanitizer, of course!). This endeavor was developed by the Chamber as a way to gather feedback that will assist in focusing our advocacy efforts on programs and resources that help businesses thrive.

This year’s survey contained four questions:

  1. How would you rate the current state of your business?
  2. What resources or support do you need to improve or advance your business?
  3. How would you like the Chamber of Commerce to support the business community?
  4. Have you utilized www.PasoStrong.com, a website created and maintained by the Paso Robles Chamber of Commerce, for COVID-19 related issues and information?

More than 58% said they are doing great or good. While down from 69% in 2019, it’s not far from the 62% we recorded in 2018. In the midst of a global pandemic, this level of positivity among businesses is a testament to the resilience of Paso Robles. Over the past three years the same top answer has been given when asked what employers need most - attracting and retaining qualified talent. Other answers include promoting their business, opportunities for networking, and advertising and marking assistance. When asked what actions our community would like the Chamber to take in order to support them, 51% said they’d like to see the Chamber continue to advocate for policies that support business, with marketing our region and engaging in business attraction also important to those surveyed. Nearly 40% of businesses told us they’ve benefitted from the resources and information provided on the www.PasoStrong.com site.
